So polar opposite to a Mozart composition, even an Adagio it could not be more contrasting in movement, tone and style. It takes a soft, sweet effervescent piece (Mozart) and turns it a bit dour, sweetly suffocating sour and like decaying rot slowly devouring a blossom on the bough of a life tree spent and dying. I do like Paert but his touch upon this lovely piece by Mozart is like a soft death knell.

He adds salt and something bitter to a sweet dish; something rough and brittle to a soft surface, but instead of destroying the original, he recreates it in contemporary language for our times. It is also beautiful .
