Blanche Calloway (1902-1978) After cutting an awesome string of tunes for Victor in 1931-32, she stopped after that, probably due to poor record sales during the Depression. Little brother Cab was much luckier.

most tragic thing here is this lovely talented woman didnt have any live recorded footage of her performances. i would have loved to seen her style. we see plenty of cab, but none of her footage is around. sucks ass how discriminating times were back then. when you hate, you miss out on a lot of beauty.
