WOWBrilliant interview of a genius composer of what i think is a top 10 most beautiful lyrical tune.Of course made even better sung by the greatest male vocalist of all time,Frank Sinatra.
Thanks for posting this is a very valuable memoir of the composer in his own words talking about this legendary song originally written for the Kingston Trio, made super famous by Sinatra and was done by a host of great singers over the years. Still holds up. Mr. Drake is a connection to the great composers of the tin pan alley days. Does Irving Berlin ring a bell? Berlin ring a bell
I saw Ol Blue eyes live at Hemisfair Arena Convention Center, San Antonio, TX, on my brothers bday 6/20/91 I was in middle school. i had no idea then I was in the presence of greatness. there were grown men with tears going down their faces when My Way was closing out the show.(a song then I knew by the sex pistols lol) I could not understand what was so moving about all those old songs. Now i am a huge fan and so grateful my Aunt drug us along.
