Makes modern pop music seem trivial..this is high quality art...men and women were so lucky back then...because they both believed that love was a commitment to each other...When did love between men and women die?I think about 50 per cent of marriages end in divorce now......I listen to this and realize how lucky my parents were...both Mum and Dad liked Frankie Vaughan..
Saw Frankie in the 60s many times and he was great, good showman, he also supported the boys clubs of GT Britain, he would charge a half crown for his autograph with proceeds going to them, a really nice man, Rip Frankie.
Amazing voice! So interesting that only a year or so later songs (and singers!) like this made way on the Hit Parade for the start of the swinging sixties sounds of the guitar pop & rock bands! Ballads were still around of course but they sounded sexier and more dramatic - Tom Jones is a prime example of this, well, in my humble opinion anyway ;)
