First heard this from the cartoons they had between main features. We subconsciously became classical music lovers without realizing it! And how about those Bugs Bunny and Tom and Jerry musical episodes?
I remember when "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. I have a dream today!" was all I needed to know on race.Words that should have echoed through generations but have now been sadly ignored only a couple of generations later.
My dad is a violinist and he played for Mariachi Sol de Mexico back in the day. They made a cover of this song and it’s my favorite version I can listen to it all day. Check it out Mariachi Sol de Mexico - Poeta y Campesino
My father used to play this on kazoo every Saturday morning and would sometimes briefly pass out from hyperventilation. I now play it on kazoo for my trans-son, and hope to play it at his funeral after he eventually takes his own life due to society humoring him in his mental illness, rather than encouraging him to seek help. Cheers!
