Unfortunately he left the worst part of the original song in place, which is the Hare Krishna mantra stuff. Would have been a great ecumenical gesture had he left that out, and appreciated by all the people who are NOT Hara Krishna types. Oh well, missed opportunity.

Very interesting version in that he´s trying to avoid the notes from "He´s So Fine". To my ears, the verse really doesn´t work here. There´s no memorable succession of notes, just random ones. A melody is as strong as its "magnetic field", meaning, if each note sits in its perfect place and there´s no way to change anything without weakening its effect, you´ve got a strong one. The way I see it, George essentially combined "He´s So Fine" and the chorus of his own "If I Needed Someone" to create a masterpiece.
