It sounds like The Beach Boys, which I haven’t gotten much into their history so I probably sound stupid right now but did these guys go to form the band?

I had the good fortune to witness Jan & Dean perform with The Beach Boys on the 1981tour, billed as “Beach Boys & Friends” since Jan’s ability to perform was unpredictable. So, we didn’t know who “friends” actually was. Dennis Wilson’s voice came over the sound system after the show’s break, stage dark, & he says “Please welcome a Southern California legend” & a spot hits a guy at the mic who says “The last thing I remember doc is I started to swerve...” & the lights come on & it’s JAN & DEAN launching into their stuff with the BBs backing them. Jan exhibited an atrophied arm & facial slack from his accident... he had a piece of paper with the lyrics on it, but he did his vocals. After every song the guys embraced him & encouraged him. He had tears streaming down his cheeks. 11,000 fans going wild & singing along with him. I’ll never forget it.
