I purchased THE 78rpm recording at Golden and Wind in High Street, Deal. My hometown did not have a record shop, boo hoo!
I am 83 years of age, and this morning for no apparent reason I awoke with this tune goung round and round in my head, as soo as I had showered I had to search for it to hear the original again......Now it`s an "Ear worm" going round in my head for the rest of the day I`m sure. Great to hear Jo Stafford again though.
A great song from the early fifties by Jo along with Shrimp Boats, You Belong to Me and others ,wonderful memories of a bygone era.
had this recording back in the 70s, i think my father purchased it when he was in the merchant navy ww2, we only ever used to play this at Christmas for some reason, it was on an old record think it was a 78 very thick record, anyway when i was about 10 years old i dropped it and it smashed, thought i would never here it again, when the internet was in its young days i tried to search for this song and never got anywhere, but 35 years on i have looked again today and now know who the singer is Jo Stafford, fondest memories of this song so long ago, absolutely humbled to here it again. thank you. you have made me a very happy man.
