Very nice hearing the original. She sounds a bit like Toni Arden. Also hearing this helps debunk that canard about white singers taking songs from black singers as a matter of course. Just as often it went the other way, as it does here and with such songs as At Last, a big hit originally by Ray Eberle. And sometimes singers of the same race took songs just like Chubby Checker and the Twist.

JUST LOVED THIS GREAT KAREN CHANDLER HIT...I VIVIDLY REMEMBER THE RECORD AS I MADE A TRIP TO THE RECORD STORE TO BUY A COPY OF THE CORAL 78RPM...UNFORTUNATELY, I BROKE THE RECORD BEFORE I GOT HOME...IT WAS THE FIRST RECORD I EVER PURCHASED...WHAT A WONDERFUL RENDITION....I THINK SHE WAS THE FIRST TO RECORD IT BEFORE THE MOONGLOWS BY A YEAR AND MEL CARTER BY 13 YEARS....
