I knew Nellie Lutcher from childhood (mine, not hers!), and she flew my mom to NYC for her final performance at The Cookery, which I attended. The then-richest man in the world sent his son for autographs and to inquire about locating more of her old records, especially "Cool Clear Water" (an irony as they were Saudi Arabians). I later learned they had taken their private jet to Chicago to shop at the record store Nellie recommended.
