This album brings me back to 2004 and all the happy memories I associate it with, like a window into my own adolescence, carefree and full of good feelings. I spent that year in a relationship with a beautiful and lovely girl who was way out of my league, what a dream that time in my life was. The world held such amazing allure and promise, life was perfect. I am forever grateful for this band for helping make something very special to me personally.
I saw these guys in Pittsburgh when all they had put out was their demo with 4 songs. A guy I knew turned his basement into a venue, booked underground bands, and charge you at the door where you were given a solo cup to drink warm beer. I believe he named it the “spider lounge”. Very fond memories of that spot and I still have a copy of their signed demo.
Happy 18th birthday, YCBY! So hard to believe that this album is this old already. It still holds up to anything put out today. Not counting greatest hits albums, this is easily my number 1 favorite of all time!
The days when you would download your cds onto your Xbox original and that was my iPod lol and poison the well played on repeat when playing games like need for speed. I miss the old days, I’m 36 and ptw, dead to fall, on broken wings, hopesfall, atreyu, and from autumn to ashes. These where the bands that got me out of the mainstream bands. I would look at the cover and the name of the band if it looked heavy. You had to gamble cause MySpace wasn’t out yet
I remember first hearing nerdy in 2005 senior year of high school and becoming obsessed. I was always more into hardcore and punk but when I heard the opposite of December I became an instant fan. poison the well kind of turned me onto a lot of other similar mid 2000s post hardcore/metal core type of bands like remembering never, on broken wings and hopes fall. Got to see them a few times and man they put on a great show
One of the greatest group of musicians ever brought together in the history of the universe. That guy in the video reminds me of the rev from avenged long live the rev.
