The question is not which is better or worse but versions that were good and which are not recognised, such as Red Nichols´.

Tha´s your opinion about things!. I only mentioned a good rock and roll version by Haley. BJTurner´s version is r&b!. What´s the problem? Are you ok?

This song was very popular during the late 1920s to even the 1950s! And this Record is a GREAT Example of Why!

Wow almost 50,000 views! This old Ragtime Jazz is making a comeback becauseits really good music. And the system they have to extract every note out of theold 78 record grooves is fantastic! (See Prozoot). You very rarely hear a sour note, and there were no synths or dubbing back then either!

One of the most funky, soulful recordings that Nichols did at that time - maybe ever ~~~

You are correct. White jazz musicians were just as equally as good. Bix Biederbecke, Red Nichols, Jack Teagarden, Benny Goodman, Adrian Rollini, Eddie Lang. The list is endless!

Great! And Bob Wills did it again in 1940; Big Joe Turner did it first in 1941, then in 1956, which turned to be the classic crossover hit; Ray Peterson in 1960, and so on.
