Cut off all the house lights, put on those disco lights and tune up those 2000 watts speakers to some old school Rick James and drink the Saturday night away. Busting out, super freak, stone city hi, standing on the top, cold blooded, dance with you, give it to me baby, glow and many more great hits from the king of punk funk.
This was popping in the clubs in Europe. The DJs were mix specialists and they would have you on the floor for about an hour or more with the rips from this being the basic groove.
RIP to Rick James and Janet Dubois whose background vocals on this and other Rick James joints are epic. Oh and honorable mention to Lawrence Hilton Jacobs who was also background vocals on this and the majority of the "Street Songs" project.
