Watching him do it live decades ago was always at a faster tempo than the studio version. Live it rocked with the audience jamming.

I think this is off of Live All Night Long in 1978, same feedback. Regardless it sounds way better than the studio version which sounds really bad. I will never know why, but many studio albums sounded really bad compared to the live ones back then. KISS, Cheap Trick, Hagar, Frampton just to name a few.

In time, it will be realized Sammy Hagar was the quintessential singer/songwriter of the 20th century. His early works are nicely being discovered by a new generation of guitarists, singers and songwriters in the 21st century. Rightfully so.
