During my child hood I lived in a group home in Hollister CA. The land was fenced all the way across because awolers or intruders, but the back was completely open. The back was a steep trail that led down to a desert land where some of our staff used to take us for trips. The land was covered in bones of deceased animals and busted paintballs from the local kids in the neighborhood. We used to take couple mile walks through this area and look at the things left and forgotten. One summer me and my friend decided we were going to escape with just the shoes on our feet and shorts we had on through the back. The wind was hot like dragons breath and thorns we ran through we suffered, we passed through the forgotten items and reached the main road. We walked around the city until they finally found us. A I hear this song Then remember the animal skulls on the ground and immediately get shot into the memory of the Back and how that place used to be.

This gave me the chills. I was transported to a specific room at a specific point in time. Admit it, you went there too.

His voice is like a Ghost singing the blues...for me, one of the most haunting singers of all time.

Truth be told, the Great Depression was nothing more than the rich folks packing up their marbles and going home, leaving the rest of you standing in bread lines and, if you were very fortunate, working for peanuts building new mansions for them, which suited them just fine...

One of the most powerful songs ever written.
