I got a Solomon Burke story. I knew people I could to see any show in town circa mud late 80s early 90s. Someone asked if I wanted to see Solomon Burke I said yeah cause its Solomon Burke. I don’t know who managed him or how his songs were decided upon, but beside closing with this and opening with cry to me he did all Beatles and Rolling Stones covers stuff like that, and his encore was satisfaction. It was very disappointing and seems like someone convinced mr Burke his unique character and preacher style wouldn’t go over with a mainstream or primarily white or primarily young audience and his career makes me a little sad because I think he could have should have been really huge in his time and historically.
