Original group included Buddy Funk, Jim Moore, Mike Tierney and Chuck Poston. All were in same fraternity and the Ga Tech Glee Club. Group name was taken from the Tech newspaper... Tierney and Poston left for the military in 1957 and group cut second record with two new singers. .
Interesting group, nice harmony, but they do sound like so many other groups without making themselves exceptional amoung the other groups.. great upload though because without good poeple like you, catspyjamas1 this music would be lost.
I saew in another post somewhere that they were a southern college close-harmony group, closer to the For Coins than to true doo-wop. However, this song was a doo-wop hit, and had a lot of airplay in New York (where I was from) and (obviously) elsewhere. Really nice.
I was 11 years old when this song was popular. Internally a transfer to me back to being innocent sweet 11-year-old destined for a lot of bad experiences.
