The Mamas & Papas version was rearranged by some unknown pro -- they changed at least one 7th to a sus, changed the turnaround to a 5th instead of that chromatic doo-wop thing, and push up to an Eb at "...ALL the stars above" which is one of the more brilliant substitutions in pop history.
