There is an impostor among us whose body belongs in spaceSent here to kill us, they know it all to wellHe vents and strikes , he vents and strikes they know it all too wellBut when all is said and votedThe light goes outThey try their best to eject him, but they are still captured by his liesThey know now they must vote him, he knows it all to wellThey run and hide, They run and hide, he knows it all too wellBut when all is said and doneThe light goes out
It sounds like this solo is Sykes. On tour there where, as I recall it, two solos and Scott played the first brilliant effort. Scott in IMO was the better solo guitarist in this line-up. More melodic and purposeful. Sykes was more of the eighties breed with tricks and antics. EvH, Malmsteen et al. Impressing at times but with far less feel and purpose than the earlier guitarists of the sixties and seventies. Slash being an exception of that era. More to the point and blues based. Some people will boil over on this comment but it is the hard truth
This was the last single Thin Lizzy released. They split soon after.Lynott said in 1983: "I think that one is a nice note to go out on"Quite apt if you ask me.
