This song and this album has withstood and surpassed the test of time!!! Tony Banks & Steven Hackett complimented each other musically so well in their time playing together. Tony Banks imho without a doubt is the greatest modern keyboard player/composer of the 20th and 21st century.
Wind and Wuthering is so good that even the vocals sound like Peter Gabriel, like he hadn’t left the band. I’m just kidding, but it’s kinda obvious that Phil Collins tried to sound like Peter Gabriel because he played an important role in the band with his unique voice and style. I made a test with a friend playing songs both from Peter Gabriel era and early Phil Collins (wind and wuthering and a trick of a tail, the last prog albums). He failed many times. Anyway, Wind and Wuthering is an amazing album, Genesis was still totally into good prog music
Anyone could write books about the feelings this song makes in every people who listens to it. In three words: absolute monster song. Thank you Mr. Anthony Banks & Genesis.
I would really struggle to voice my all time number one song from Genesis but this song would certainly be up there within my top ten. Every picture tells a story - so does every song, Are you ready to listen?
